Felling of trees in the Upper Pond Nature Reserve
The Upper Pond has become increasingly shaded and overhung by self-set trees. Two of the sycamores will be felled during December-January and one dead tree will also be removed for safety reasons. The aim is to allow more sunlight to fall on the pond and is one of the measures to improve the biodiversity of the area that will take place over the next year. You may have noticed that some dredging of the pond was carried out in the summer. We will endeavour to add posts about activities as they happen.
