Oppose the 27-storey Tower on Archway Campus now
Waterlow Park is threatened by a proposed tower development.
The Friends of Waterlow Park are voicing strong opposition to the proposed 27-storey tower on the Archway Campus site, just 280 metres from Waterlow Park. This development threatens the park’s historic character and scenic views and would diminish the park’s unique vantage point above London. The mock-up picture shows the effect of the proposed development.
Waterlow Park is Grade II* listed. The proposed development disregards the site’s topography, transforming it from an elevated retreat into a city centre park overshadowed by a tall building. The Friends are calling for Islington to respect their statutory responsibilities to consult with Historic England and respect conservation designations.
Please email planning@islington.gov.uk by the end of the week (3rd November) when public consultation ends, referencing application P2024/2598/FUL, and protect our cherished green space.
